What are the layers in The Essential?

The Essential is the most basic mattress available at Dozy, anything more basic than this would be considered temporary. This mattress features an 8-inch layer of high-density foam with a soft top layer for comfort and a more firm lower layer for support.

What are the benefits of open-cell memory foam?

Open-cell memory foam is the most breathable non-organic material. This poly-based foam is both durable and pressure-relieving, with an open-cell design that allows heat to escape through the mattress.

What are the benefits of latex?

Latex is a unique material that is more similar to rubber than foam. When added to the top layer of a mattress, latex can be too firm but when added underneath other foams, it increases overall durability without compromising comfort. At Dozy, the latex we use is aerated which allows for direct airflow into the pocket coil section and helps regulate heat within the mattress overall.

What are the layers in The Summerhill?

The Summerhill is the best-selling mattress at Dozy. This mattress features 2 layers of foam, the top layer is 2-inch of gel-infused memory foam and the lower layer is 2-inch of high-density foam. This mattress also features an 1100 pocket coil base with a reinforced center that protects the mattress from softening under the weight of the heaviest parts of your body.

How firm is The Richmond?

The Richmond is considered a 6.5/10 on our firmness scale. This mattress offers reinforced support through pocket coils and combines open-cell gel foam and latex for a superior night’s sleep.

How firm is The Essential?

The Essential is considered a 6/10 on our firmness scale. This mattress is our most basic sleep surface, it offers great value and a decent night’s sleep.

How do all the layers work together?

The combination of latex, open-cell, and transition foam creates supportive, pressure-reducing layers that align your body and reduce motion transfer without retaining any heat.

What makes one of your mattresses better than another?

At Dozy, we recognize that comfort is subjective. While we have done our best to rank our mattresses according to the materials used and the product-specific features, some people will inevitably disagree with our rankings. For example, someone who likes their mattress more firm might actually prefer our “good” option over our “best” option and vice versa.

This is why we encourage all our customers to visit one of our showrooms and try the mattress out for themselves to be sure it meets their sleeping needs and is comfortable as well.

Why only 5 mattresses?

While everyone has unique needs and preferences, we believe that with fewer models to choose from, our customer experience is much more efficient – on average our customers find their mattress in less than 20 minutes. We’ve seen big-box stores where people easily spend half their day trying to make sense of the slight differences between up to 50 different models, so we’ve done our best to streamline that process while making sure all our customers sleep soundly on whichever mattress they choose.

Does the comfort guarantee apply to all products?

No, our 125-night comfort guarantee only applies to our Dozy mattresses.

Will The Davisville transfer motion?

The Davisville will transfer less motion than The Essential, The Osgoode, and The Summerhill, and is on par with The Richmond. This mattress is made entirely of high-density foam which does not transfer motion.

Will The Osgoode transfer motion?

The Osgoode will transfer more motion than both The Essential and The Davisville, and slightly more than both The Summerhill and The Richmond. This mattress features 800 pocket coils and a channeled quilt that work together to reduce motion transfer.

Do the Dozy mattresses sleep hot?

All Dozy mattresses have been designed with temperature control in mind. At Dozy, we use a non-traditional channeled quilt that helps diffuse body heat throughout the mattress preventing it from getting trapped in the tufts and pockets. Additionally, our “Better” and “Best” mattress models have gel-infused memory foam that reduces heat retention.

Will Dozy set up my mattress, foundation, and/or frame for me?

The Dozy delivery team will set up your mattress, basic foundation, and adjustable base. However, we do not offer set-up of our basic frame or platform base, these products require minimal assembly and no additional tools.

Will a Dozy mattress dent or sag?

It is unlikely that you will see any significant body indentation within the time period covered by the manufacturer’s warranty and any indentation that occurs is usually a result of pressure applied to the surface of the mattress. Any indentation greater than 1.5-inch (without pressure) is covered under the warranty.

Why are there not more coils in your “Best” model?

The quality of coil count is measured using the number of coils in a standard QUEEN size mattress. On average, coil count ranges from 800-1200 pocket coils per QUEEN size mattress. A mattress with less than 800 pocket coils is less durable, over time it loses its ability to disperse weight and pressure, or contour to the curvature of your body. A mattress with more than 1200 pocket coils becomes unnecessary and doesn’t increase comfort or durability in any significant way.

Why is The Richmond considered our “Best” model?

The Richmond is our most expensive mattress and is made with our most premium materials.

This mattress features 3 layers of foam, the top layer is 1-inch Talalay latex, the middle layer is 2-inch open-cell memory foam, and the lower layer is 2-inch high-density transition foam. This mattress also features a reinforced center and 1100 pocket coils, making it our most durable and supportive option.

Why is The Summerhill considered your “Better” model?

The Summerhill is our best-selling mattress.

This mattress features 2 layers of foam, the top layer is 2-inch gel-infused memory foam and the lower layer is 2-inch high-density foam. This mattress also features a reinforced center and 1100 pocket coils for additional support.

What is the 125-night comfort guarantee?

At Dozy, we offer a 125-night comfort guarantee on all opened Dozy mattresses. This policy entitles each customer to a maximum of 2 exchanges on their Dozy mattress if they decide it is too soft or too firm. The exchange request must be made after the 60-night break-in period, which ensures the mattress has time to reach its baseline before an exchange is processed. There is no additional charge on exchanges or customizations of the original model. This policy does not apply to other Dozy merchandise including pillows, foundations, frames, etc.

Why does Dozy have a showroom while other online retailers do not?

At Dozy, we believe your time is valuable and we also believe you know your body best. We recommend all our customers visit one of our showrooms and try out our mattresses to ensure they are getting exactly what they need and nothing they don’t.

Why do we make our mattresses in Canada?

All the foam, coils, and quilting manufactured in Canada are of the highest quality. At Dozy, we take tremendous pride in our community, we believe working with local Canadian businesses is the best way to grow the economy and support the country as a whole.

Why do I have extra parts with my Dozy basic frame?

The extra parts are so a headboard can be attached if desired. We recommend placing the extra parts in a plastic bag and securing them to the underside of the frame.

Why did we decide to add The Richmond?

At Dozy, we recognize that comfort is subjective. When we first opened in 2017, our focus was on keeping our mattress collection simple and competitively priced so we initially only offered 3 mattress models. Since then, we have worked to add more variety. We created The Richmond to cater to customers looking for the most luxurious mattress that modern materials can make without any constraint on price point.

Why are Dozy mattresses not compressed in a box for shipping?

At Dozy, we try to ship all our mattresses the traditional way as compression isn’t always possible depending on the materials being used.

However, we also recognize that “in-a-box” shipping can save a lot of hassle delivering in a tight space or as a single person so we do offer compression on The Essential and The Osgoode mattress models upon request.

Why are adjustable beds so expensive?

Most of the cost of an adjustable bed lies in the motorized technology used for adjusting positions or massage/vibration fuctions.

Which days does Dozy deliver?

We deliver Tuesday-Friday from 4-9pm and Saturday from 3-8pm. At Dozy, we try our best to schedule delivery over the phone for convenience, followed by an email for confirmation.

Where is the Dozy foundation made?

The Dozy basic foundation is made in the same factory as our mattresses in North York, Ontario.

Where is the Dozy adjustable base made?

Unlike our mattresses, which are all Canadian-made, the Dozy adjustable base is designed in the USA and manufactured in China.

Where do I go for a refund and how are they processed?

At Dozy, we offer free delivery anywhere in Toronto and the GTA with the purchase of any Dozy mattress. We also offer delivery outside these locations when possible for an additional charge.

Hybrid mattresses offer the best of both worlds; combining the pressure relief of a foam mattress and the support of a pocket coil base. A hybrid mattress will contour to your body while also maintaining proper alignment, and the motion transfer is only slightly more than a mattress made entirely of foam.

What if I purchase the wrong size mattress?

While we recommend that all customers double-check the size of mattress they need by measuring their current one, we recognize that things can happen. All our mattress products can be returned provided they are in their original unopened packaging. If the product has been opened, our mattresses are still protected under our 125-night comfort guarantee.

What are the benefits of a foam mattress?

Foam mattresses transfer the least amount of motion and provide significantly more pressure relief compared to coils.

Foam is also more flexible, making it easier to squeeze through a narrow hallway, up a staircase, or into a basement.

How thick is the foam inside The Osgoode?

The Osgoode mattress is made with 1-inch of high-density foam in the top layer.

How many pocket coils are in The Summerhill?

The Summerhill mattress contains 1100 pocket coils and reinforced support running horizontally through the mattress. This reinforcement helps hold up the heaviest parts of your body and keeps everything properly aligned.

How long will my Dozy mattress last?

All our mattresses, foundations, and frames are protected under a 5 or 10-year warranty (depending on the model), however, with proper care, your mattress can last much longer.

What are the benefits of an adjustable bed?

An adjustable base is great for someone who spends a lot of time in their bed; watching TV, using a laptop, etc.

While propping yourself up with pillows is always an option, there is greater strain on your neck and back, in addition to increased heat retention compared to using an adjustable bed.

How long does it take for products to ship?

On average, our products take between 2-6 days to arrive at your home from the date of purchase. Delivery time may vary depending on your location.

How firm is The Summerhill?

The Summerhill is considered a 7.5/10 on our firmness scale, making it our firmest model. This mattress offers the support of pocket coils and the soft, pressure-relieving comfort of gel-infused memory foam.

How firm is The Osgoode?

The Osgoode is considered a 7/10 on our firmness scale. This mattress offers reinforced support through pocket coils and a breathable top layer of high-density foam for comfort.

How firm is The Davisville?

The Davisville is considered a 6.5/10 on our firmness scale. This mattress offers great support while maintaining the memory foam feel in the top layer.

Does the foundation come in one or two pieces?

The foundation in King size will come in 2 separate pieces. The foundation in Queen size will come in 1 complete piece by default, however, you can request for the foundation to be split for an additional charge.

Can an adjustable base improve my health?

Research has shown that sleeping with the head of the bed at a slight incline can be beneficial for people who suffer from sleep apnea, asthma, heartburn, and acid reflux while sleeping with the foot of the bed slightly elevated can be beneficial for people who suffer from swelling in their legs and feet. 

Does it have casters or legs?

Our basic bed frame has legs.

Does Dozy offer financing options?

Unfortunately, we do not offer financing options at this time.

Do I need to assemble the foundation?

No, the foundation does not require assembly and is fully handled by our delivery team.

Do I need any tools for assembly?

No, all our basic bed frames are easy to assemble with an Allen key included in the box.

Do all the Dozy mattresses work on the Dozy adjustable base?

Yes, all our mattresses are designed to work with our adjustable base.

Can I put my mattress right on my Dozy basic bed frame?

Our basic bed frames do not have slats and therefore require a foundation of the correct size in order to support the weight of both the mattress and your body.

Can I get a refund if I don’t like one of your products?

You may return or exchange an item within 25 days provided the product is unused and in its original, unopened packaging. You must provide your original sales receipt and the invoice emailed to you at the time of purchase.

Opening any packaging voids your ability to return the merchandise, however, you are still more than welcome to make use of our 125-night comfort guarantee.

All refunds and exchanges are subject to management discretion.

Can I buy the foundation separately?

Yes, however, the price of the foundation itself increases when purchasing one on its own.
