What’s the Difference?
The Summerhill is a hybrid mattress with a pocket-coil base and breathable open-cell memory foam on top. The Summerhill provides more breathability and durability than The Davisville as it utilizes tempered steel pocket-coils which retain their shape over time and promote the transfer of heat away from the body into the deeper parts of the mattress where it can freely escape.
THE TEMPERATURE-REGULATING QUILT
The Summerhill uses a TENCEL quilt which is a tried-and-true method of reducing heat retention on the surface of the mattress while modern smooth top mattresses with a flat finish cause the insulating foam to store heat close to the surface, keeping you up at night, tossing and turning to find a cooler spot.
THE BREATHABLE TOP
The Summerhill uses open-cell foam that helps keep your body heat traveling in the right direction (away from the surface). Mattresses that use more traditional closed-cell foam near the surface end up trapping heat while open-cell foam provides a way for your body heat to escape deeper into the mattress and away from your body.
THE MAGNIFICENT MIDDLE
Mattresses face the most wear and tear underneath the area where your hips rest. Your hip area takes the pressures of getting in and out of bed, pivoting when rolling over, and it’s naturally the heaviest part of your body. This is why mattresses tend to lose their shape over time and slowly take the shape of a hammock after years of use. THE POCKET COIL BASE
The Summerhill is a hybrid mattress with a pocket coil base that is designed to provide high-quality support over time. Our pocket coils are made of 100% tempered Canadian steel and are designed to retain their shape over time. Unlike a continuous coil system which moves as one noisy unit, pocket coils are silent and move independently from one another.
THE FOAM ENCASEMENT
The Summerhill has a 360-degree foam encasement which makes the mattress more rigid along the edges and prevents you from feeling like you are rolling off the sides when sleeping.
