Pick your warmth
Summer, All Season or Winter: which is right for you?
All three use the same 600 loft white duck down and cotton shell. The only difference is how much down goes in, and that decides how warm it sleeps.
Summer
about 7 TOG · 25 oz (Queen)
Our lightest down weight: less down, so it holds in less heat, but it still feels light and puffy.
Best for: Warm sleepers, warm bedrooms and warmer months
Keep in mind: Too light on its own for a cool bedroom in winter. Sleep very hot? The Ultra Lite will suit you better.
All Season
about 9 TOG · 30 oz (Queen)
Our standard weight. Warm through a Toronto winter in a heated home, without feeling heavy or too hot in spring and fall.
Best for: Most sleepers, most of the year
Keep in mind: Can feel warm in a hot bedroom in midsummer.
Winter
about 11.5 TOG · 40 oz (Queen)
A third more down than All Season, for cold sleepers, cool bedrooms and the coldest months. The warmest duvet we sell, and still light for its warmth.
Best for: Cold sleepers, cool bedrooms and the coldest months
Keep in mind: Too warm for most people in summer or a warm bedroom.
TOG values are Dozy's estimates for a Queen, based on each fill and fill weight. Not sure which to pick? Ask us in store or give us a call.
Why it works
What makes the Down Duvet different
The most warmth for its weight
Down clusters trap still air, so down holds more heat for its weight than feather or synthetic fill. Warm, without feeling heavy.
Breathes, so you stay dry
As a natural fibre, down lets body moisture escape. You stay warm without the damp, clammy feel of a synthetic fill.
600 loft white duck down
Loft, or fill power, is how much space an ounce of down fills. 600 loft is a quality down with big, springy clusters that puff back up.

How to read our numbers
Warmth, breathability and TOG: what's the difference?
Every Dozy duvet gets two simple bars, warmth and breathability, plus an estimated TOG. They answer three different questions.
The bar: Light to Warm
Warmth
How much heat the duvet holds around you, scored 1 to 10 across our duvets. It comes down to the type of fill and how much of it there is. Pick more warmth if you run cold or keep your bedroom cool.
Warmth isn't weight. Down gives the most warmth for its weight, so our warmest duvet, the Winter Down Duvet, weighs less than our Down & Feather or Down Alternative.
The bar: Sweaty to Dry
Breathability
How well the duvet lets heat and body moisture escape, scored 1 to 10. Silk, wool and down move moisture away from your skin. Synthetic fill holds onto it, which is what leaves you damp and clammy.
Breathability isn't the opposite of warmth. A duvet can be warm and breathable at the same time, which is why down sleeps so well.
The lab number
TOG
TOG (thermal overall grade) is the European and UK standard for how well a duvet holds in heat, measured in a lab. The higher the number, the warmer the duvet.
TOG only measures heat. It says nothing about moisture or how a duvet feels, so two duvets with the same TOG can sleep very differently. Ours are estimates from each duvet's fill and fill weight.
The short version
Pick with the two bars. Run hot or wake up sweaty? Look for Dry first, then less warmth. Run cold? Look for Warm. TOG is there if you want to compare us with European brands.

Warmth is how much heat a duvet holds in. Breathability is how well it lets heat and moisture escape. Both are Dozy's own 1 to 10 scores, compared across our duvets. TOG values are our estimates for a Queen, based on each duvet's fill weight, to help compare with European brands.

Quality and care
What the labels mean, and how to care for it
Certified
Downmark® and OEKO-TEX®
Our down and feather duvets are Downmark® certified by the Down Association of Canada: fill is lab tested to match its label, and its sourcing rules ban live-plucking and force-feeding. Every Dozy duvet is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, tested for harmful substances.
Care
Professional cleaning only
Keep your duvet in a duvet cover, air it out often and spot clean small marks with a little mild soap and water.
When it needs a full clean, take it to a professional cleaner and tell them what the fill is. Washing or tumble drying a duvet at home can damage the fill.
Duvet covers
Give your duvet a cover
A washable cover keeps your duvet fresh for years, so it needs professional cleaning far less often. Choose cotton sateen or flax linen.

Down Duvet questions, answered
What is the Down Duvet filled with?
600 loft white duck down, in a down-proof 233 thread count cotton shell. It's Downmark® certified, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified and made to order here in Toronto.
What's the difference between Summer, All Season and Winter?
Only the amount of down. All three use the same 600 loft white duck down and cotton shell. A Queen has 25 oz of down in Summer, 30 oz in All Season and 40 oz in Winter. More down holds more heat: we estimate about 7, 9 and 11.5 TOG.
Which warmth should I choose?
All Season suits most people in a heated Toronto home for most of the year. Choose Winter if you run cold or keep your bedroom cool, and Summer if you run warm or want a lighter duvet for warmer months. If you sleep very hot, The Ultra Lite Duvet will suit you better than any down duvet.
What TOG is the Down Duvet?
For a Queen, about 7 TOG in Summer, 9 in All Season and 11.5 in Winter. TOG is a European lab measure of how well a duvet holds in heat. Canadian brands rarely list it, so ours are estimates from the fill type and fill weight. TOG only measures heat, so we also score every duvet for breathability.
Is a down duvet breathable?
Yes. Down keeps you warm by trapping still air, and as a natural fibre it lets body moisture pass through, so you don't get the damp, clammy feel of a synthetic fill. More down still holds more heat, so if you run warm, pick Summer, and if you sleep very hot, The Ultra Lite Duvet is the better choice.
Is the Down Duvet heavy?
No. Down gives the most warmth for its weight, so even the Winter weight feels light and puffy. If you like a heavier, fuller drape, The Down & Feather Duvet will feel more like that.
What does 600 loft mean?
Loft, also called fill power, measures how many cubic inches one ounce of down fills. Higher loft means bigger down clusters, more warmth for the weight and a lighter feel. 600 loft is a quality all-season down.
Should I get the Down Duvet or the Down & Feather Duvet?
The Down Duvet is lighter, warmer for its weight and more breathable. The Down & Feather Duvet is 20% down and 80% feather, so it drapes fuller and heavier and costs a lot less. It's our best value in natural fill.
Is the Down Duvet made in Toronto?
Yes. The Down Duvet is made to order here in Toronto. Because we make it ourselves, it can also be customized. Ask us at our store at 290 Queen St W.
How do I clean my duvet?
Professional cleaning only. Keep your duvet in a duvet cover, air it out often and spot clean small marks with a little mild soap and water. When it needs a full clean, take it to a professional cleaner and tell them what the fill is. Washing or tumble drying a duvet at home can damage the fill.
Do I need a duvet cover?
Yes. A cover protects the duvet from sweat, oils and spills, and because duvets need professional cleaning, a cover you can toss in the wash keeps it fresh for much longer. We carry duvet covers in cotton sateen and flax linen.
What size should I get?
Match your duvet to your mattress: Twin/Single, Double/Full, Queen or King. If you want more overhang on the sides, or share the bed with someone who steals the covers, size up one, for example a King duvet on a Queen bed.
What is a TOG rating?
TOG is a European lab measure of how well a duvet holds in heat. Higher is warmer. Roughly, 3 to 4.5 TOG is summer weight, 7 to 10.5 is all-season and 12 and up is winter weight. Canadian brands rarely list TOG, so we estimate one for each Dozy duvet from its fill and fill weight. TOG only measures heat, so we also score every duvet for breathability.
Do you put duvets on sale?
No. Our prices stay the same every day. The one deal we offer: 20% off duvets, pillows and sheets when you buy them with a mattress, applied automatically in your cart.
