Foam comfort without the heat or the sink
Most foam mattresses trap heat and let you sink in. The Rosedale is built to do neither. Here is what each part does.
Hollofil and cool gel quilt
A layer of Hollofil fibre sits between you and the foam, with a layer of cool gel sewn in underneath. Foam holds heat; fibre lets it escape. Most foam mattresses skip quilting entirely.
100% cotton jacquard cover
A soft, woven cotton cover, certified to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, that breathes better than the poly blends used on most mattresses. It's the same cover we put on The Forest Hill.
Rebound foam on top
2" of responsive foam right under the quilt. It cushions your shoulders and hips, then pushes back, so you move easily and never feel stuck in the bed.
The magnificent middle
A 3.3" bolster of slightly firmer foam sits in the middle of the mattress, under your hips. It supports the heaviest part of your body and stops the middle softening and sagging over time.
Built to last
Three foam layers over a 7" high-density core, 12" in all, built and delivered flat. Bed-in-a-box mattresses are squashed and rolled to ship, which softens the foam and shortens its life. The Rosedale never is, and it rates highest of our foam mattresses for durability.
Quiet for couples
Foam absorbs movement instead of passing it across the bed, so you feel less of your partner turning over.

A 100% cotton jacquard cover, certified to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, quilted with Hollofil fibre, with a tight top finish. The fibre keeps a breathable layer between you and the foam, so body heat escapes instead of soaking in.

Cool gel layer Sewn into the quilt
A layer of cool gel sewn into the quilt, just below the Hollofil. It sits in the quilt, not in the foam, so it's right under you, between the fibre and the foam.

2" rebound foam Responsive comfort
Soft at first touch, then it pushes back. It cushions your shoulders and hips without the slow, stuck feeling of memory foam, so it's easy to change positions.

3" open-cell foam Contouring and airflow
Follows your shape and relieves pressure. The open-cell structure lets air move through the foam, so heat moves down and away from you.

The magnificent middle 3.3" hip bolster
Slightly firmer foam set into the middle of the comfort layer, under your hips. Your body isn't even, so the support shouldn't be either: it holds up the heaviest part of you and keeps the middle from softening and sagging.

Who is the Rosedale best for?
Side sleepers, people who switch positions, couples, and anyone who loves the feel of foam but has found foam mattresses too hot or too sinky. Back and stomach sleepers who like foam can order it Firm or Extra firm, or look at The Davisville.
Why is the Rosedale your best foam mattress?
It has the most going on of any foam mattress we make: a 100% cotton jacquard cover, a Hollofil quilt with a cool gel layer, 2" of rebound foam, 3" of open-cell foam with a firmer middle under your hips, and a 7" high-density core. It rates highest of our foam mattresses for breathability (7/10) and durability (8/10).
How firm is the Rosedale?
It's a 6 out of 10, which is medium. The quilt and 2" of rebound foam give soft, responsive cushion on top, 3" of open-cell foam follows your shape, a firmer bolster sits under your hips, and a 7" high-density core keeps you supported. You can also choose extra soft (4/10), soft (5/10), firm (7/10) or extra firm (8/10) at no extra cost.
Is the Rosedale good for hot sleepers?
It's the coolest foam mattress we make. Foam holds heat, so the Rosedale keeps a Hollofil fibre quilt with a cool gel layer between you and the foam, and uses open-cell foams that let air move through. The cotton jacquard cover breathes too. It rates 7 out of 10 for breathability. If you run very hot, a hybrid moves more air through its coils: The Richmond rates 8 and The Forest Hill 10.
Is the Rosedale a memory foam mattress?
Not a traditional one. It uses responsive rebound foam and open-cell high-density foams, so you sink in a little and the foam pushes back right away. You don't get the slow, stuck feeling traditional memory foam is known for.
Where is the gel in the Rosedale?
In the quilt. A layer of cool gel is sewn in just below the Hollofil fibre, close to you. None of the foam layers are gel-infused.
What is a cotton jacquard cover?
Jacquard is a woven fabric with the pattern built into the weave rather than printed on. The Rosedale's is 100% cotton, which is soft and breathes well, and it's certified to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. It's the same cover we use on The Forest Hill. Most of our other mattresses use a poly-cotton blend.
Does the Rosedale come rolled or compressed?
No. The Rosedale is built in Toronto and delivered flat, never rolled or compressed. Bed-in-a-box mattresses are squashed to ship, which softens the foam and shortens its life. Ours keeps its full shape and support from day one.
How long does the Rosedale last?
10 to 13 years with normal care, close to our Richmond. Rotate it every 3 to 6 months. It comes with a 10-year limited warranty.
What's the difference between the Rosedale and the Davisville?
Both are all-foam with the magnificent middle. The Davisville is 7/10 medium-firm, 10" tall, with a poly-cotton Hollofil quilt, from $899. The Rosedale is 6/10 medium and 12" tall, with a 100% cotton jacquard cover, a cool gel layer in the quilt and an extra layer of rebound foam. It sleeps cooler and lasts longer, from $1,699.
What's the difference between the Rosedale and the Forest Hill?
They share the 100% cotton jacquard cover and the Hollofil and cool gel quilt. The Forest Hill is a latex hybrid with pocket coils: 5/10, 14.5" tall, from $1,899. The Rosedale is all-foam: 6/10 medium, 12" tall, with the quiet, motion-absorbing feel of foam, from $1,699.
What if the Rosedale doesn't feel right?
You have 125 nights and up to two exchanges under our Comfort Guarantee. We can swap it for a tailored firmness version of the Rosedale for free, exchange it up to another model and you pay the difference, or exchange it down and we refund the difference.
How fast is delivery?
