Pick your firmness
Regular or Firm: which is right for you?
Both have the same down and feather. Firm just has more of it, so it sits higher and holds its shape under a side sleeper's head.
Regular
Soft enough for stomach sleepers, with enough support for back sleepers. The classic hotel feel.
Best for: Stomach and back sleepers
Keep in mind: Usually too low for side sleepers.
Firm
Overstuffed with more fill, so it sits higher and keeps a side sleeper's head level with the spine.
Best for: Side sleepers, and back sleepers who like a fuller pillow
Keep in mind: Can tilt a stomach sleeper's head up too far.
Same fill, more of it: Firm is the same pillow with extra fill, so it sits higher and holds its shape. Not sure? Try both at our store.
Why it works
What makes the Down & Feather Pillow different
Two chambers, one pillow
A feather core holds your head up and an outer chamber of down keeps it soft on top. It's the build behind the classic hotel pillow.
Regular or Firm
Firm is overstuffed with more fill, so it sits higher for side sleepers. Regular is soft enough for stomach and back sleepers.
Breathable natural fill
Down and feather let heat and moisture escape, and the 100% cotton shell breathes too. It scores 8 out of 10 on breathability.
Downmark® certified
Downmark® certified by the Down Association of Canada: the fill is lab tested to match its label. Certified to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® too.

Neck and spine
Is this the right height for you?
Your pillow's job is to keep your head in line with your spine. Stomach sleepers need the least pillow, a soft one that lets them lie almost flat. Back sleepers need a medium amount and side sleepers the most.
Too low
Your head drops
A pillow that's too soft or too thin for how you sleep lets your head sink below your shoulders. It's common for side sleepers on a flat pillow.
Just right
Head, neck and spine in a line
The pillow fills the space between your head and the mattress, so your neck rests straight. That is the goal for every sleeper.
Too high
Your head tilts up
Too much fill pushes your head up and bends your neck. It's worst for stomach sleepers: a firm, full pillow arches your back and puts pressure on your lower back.
Your mattress matters too
A softer mattress lets your shoulder sink in, so you need a little less pillow. On a firmer mattress you need a little more. Bring your questions to the store and we'll help you match a pillow to your mattress.

Down & Feather Pillow questions, answered
Should I get Regular or Firm?
Go by how you sleep. Stomach and back sleepers usually like Regular, which is softer and sits lower. Side sleepers usually need Firm: it has more fill, so it bridges the gap between ear and mattress and keeps the head level.
What makes it a hotel pillow?
Many good hotels use a down and feather pillow like this one: soft down on the outside for comfort and feathers inside for support. It feels soft when you lie down and still holds your head up through the night.
What's the difference between The Down & Feather Pillow and The Feather Pillow?
The Down & Feather Pillow wraps its feather core in an outer chamber of 550 fill power down, so it feels softer and more luxurious on top. The Feather Pillow has no down chamber, so it has more body and costs less.
Is The Down & Feather Pillow good for hot sleepers?
Yes. Down and feather breathe well and the shell is 100% cotton. It scores 8 out of 10 on our breathability scale, second only to The Down Pillow.
How do I care for The Down & Feather Pillow?
Fluff it every day and keep it in a pillowcase. Spot clean small marks and take it to a professional cleaner for a full clean.
Which pillow is best for how I sleep?
Stomach sleepers need a soft, thin pillow that lets them lie almost flat. With your head turned to one side, a soft pillow can tuck under that side of your head and shoulder, taking pressure off your neck so you don't have to turn your head all the way. Too firm or too full and your back arches, which strains your lower back. Try The Down Pillow, or The Down & Feather Pillow or The Feather Pillow in Regular. Back sleepers need a medium pillow. Side sleepers need the most fill to bridge the gap between ear and mattress: The Adjustable Gel Pillow or a Firm Down & Feather Pillow. Not sure? Take the pillow quiz on our pillows page.
What's the difference between Regular and Firm?
Firm has more fill. It's the same pillow, just fuller, so it sits higher and holds your head up more. Regular suits stomach and back sleepers. Firm suits side sleepers.
Does loft mean how high a pillow is?
No. Loft, or fill power, describes the quality of down: how much space one ounce of it fills. Higher fill power means bigger, lighter, more breathable clusters. How high or firm a pillow is comes from how much fill is inside.
Can I try your pillows before I buy?
Yes. Every pillow we sell is in our store at 290 Queen St W, Toronto, on our mattresses. Lie down in your usual sleep position and we'll help you check that your head and neck line up.
Do you put pillows on sale?
No. Our prices stay the same every day. The one deal we offer: 20% off pillows, duvets and sheets when you buy them with a mattress, applied automatically in your cart.
