The Richmond is part of our Original line which means this mattress is made to order. Delivery can usually be scheduled within 2-3 days from purchase. The Richmond does not come rolled or compressed in a box.
What’s the Difference?
The Richmond is a hybrid mattress with a pocket-coil base and a combination of Talalay latex and open-cell memory foam on top. The Richmond provides more breathability and durability than The Summerhill as it utilizes Talalay latex which is more like a rubber than a foam so it retains its shape over time while providing a greater level of pressure-relief. This material also contains aerated channels which makes it much more breathable than traditional high-density or memory foam.
THE TEMPERATURE-REGULATING QUILT
The Summerhill uses a TENCEL quilt which is a tried-and-true method of reducing heat retention on the surface of the mattress while modern smooth top mattresses with a flat finish cause the insulating foam to store heat close to the surface, keeping you up at night, tossing and turning to find a cooler spot.
THE LATEX TOP
The Richmond uses a combination of latex and open-cell foam to help keep your body heat traveling in the right direction (away from the surface). Latex has aerated channels that allow heat to move freely into the deeper parts of the mattress while open-cell foam further facilitates this process making The Richmond the most breathable mattress in our Original line and the most breathable mattress when compared to other hybrid mattresses within the same price point.

THE POCKET COIL BASE
The Richmond is a hybrid mattress with a pocket coil base that is designed to provide high-quality support over time. Our pocket coils are made of 100% tempered Canadian steel and are designed to retain their shape over time. Unlike a continuous coil system which moves as one noisy unit, pocket coils are silent and move independently from one another.
THE FOAM ENCASEMENT
The Richmond has a 360-degree foam encasement which makes the mattress more rigid along the edges and prevents you from feeling like you are rolling off the sides when sleeping.
